Today is a Tuesday. Today I realised I have had the date wrong for the last couple of days – sorry. And worse, I just realised my huge essay isn’t due in until tomorrow – you know, the one I half killed myself to get in ‘on time’. Maybe I should, in future, change over the calendar page at the end of the month. Not a bad idea, really.
But I digress. Today is Tuesday. You might recall, I love Tuesdays. And, with the weight of my Research Essay off my shoulders (unnecessarily it would seem…) I decided to take the day off studying. The only study related thing I did was parcel up all my library books and send them back. Ahhh.
Instead I caught up on all the things I’ve been putting off the last few weeks. I cleaned. I folded washing (well, that’s never-ending around here), I washed two hire kits of nappies, and sorted a third one. I parceled up a couple of gifts and posted them off. I baked – yes, my family had scoffed every last muffin from the last baking session. I made a huge crumble for knitting night ladies to share with me. I sewed. I dyed the yarn for my yarn swap (sorry, you’ll have to wait until next week to see it, we are swapping on Wednesday night). I even got all the other bits of my swap organised. I planned a crafty activity to do with the kids tomorrow and began to get it ready. And I even knitted just a little bit.
My sewing: I completed (aside from ribbon and toggle) another five WIP bags, for no real reason except I felt like it. I have a few more cut out too. I might sell a few, and keep the rest for my gift box.
I will have to get back to study tomorrow, but it was total bliss to take a day off, to catch up with the world for a while, to listen to music and find my feet just a little bit.
And tonight at knitting night I got given a lovely gift that I won on Hannah’s blog. My girls are going to love “Marina the Mermaid”, the cute hair ties, and yes, I suspect they will ask for the chocolate fish for breakfast. Awesome, thanks Hannah. What a lovely end to a great day.
Thanks again for the lovely crumble and hosting tonight
– can’t wait to see all the goodness the yarn swap unfolds next Wednesday!
Such pretty fabrics! I need to make a few of my own (I actually have more than one started project, for once!). I’m thinking of putting a clear pocket on the front which you can put a note about what’s inside.
Glad you had a catch up day 🙂
That crumble was gooooooooooooooooooooood sheryl 🙂
Love the project bags too so if you are wanting to sell the blue paisly one then please pick me! hehe
Chocolate fish, I would have them for breakfast too. 🙂
Sounds like a great day. You fitted so much in.
Ditto on the blue paisley bag, it’s lovely! Aren’t WIP bags just great! I’ve got a little bag that I’m using as a WIP bag and it’s even got a strap to hold it around my wrist, so I can walk around and take my knitting with me without having to carry the bag/wool 🙂
Wow Sheryl, you had such a productive day! Thanks for hosting again, it’s lovely coming to your house and nattering with the girls. Love the wip bags too, very cool :-).
